Jakarta –
The mystery of the Banyuwangi-Surabaya bus route in 1997 caused a stir among residents around Purabaya Terminal, Bungurasih. In fact, the Garrison even intervened. This news has become one of the most popular topics throughout February 2023.
Syafiil Anam, a resident around the Purabaya Bungurasih Terminal, said that at that time there was a woman who looked dazed and almost fainted around the Purabaya Terminal, Bungurasih. It turned out he was a bus passenger from Banyuwangi.
Syafiil was one of the bus crew members who happened to be in the Bungurasih Terminal area that night.
At that time, said Syafiil, residents around the Bungurasih Terminal were in an uproar because of the bus passengers’ confession. In fact, the Garrison even intervened.
“It happened in 1997, the bus was from Banyuwangi. From Banyuwangi to Purabaya Terminal it only took 5 minutes to arrive,” said Syafiil in an interview with detikcom, October 15 2021.
Syafiil continued, the female passenger boarded the bus from Banyuwangi at around 9 pm. According to his statement, he sat in one of the empty seats. He then put the bag on the bench next to the one he was sitting on.

The woman actually felt uncomfortable when riding the bus. He saw that all the passengers were wearing white clothes and covered with matching cloth. However, the woman tried to get rid of her negative thoughts. He thought that the bus passengers were a group of tourists from Bali.
The bus finally drove off. Until finally arriving at the destination. However, the bus did not enter the Bungurasih Terminal, only reached the main door. During the journey, the female passenger did not have time to close her eyes.
The female passenger got off the bus in a daze. He was limp, almost fainting. An officer then approached him. When asked by officers, he admitted that he had just departed from Banyuwangi, but suddenly he had been taken off the bus.
The female passenger became even more confused when she looked at the watch on her hand. He just realized that the journey from Banyuwangi to Sidoarjo only took 5 minutes. Normally, Banyuwangi-Surabaya takes 5 to 6 hours by car.
Syafiil said that residents around the terminal also asked questions about the confused passengers. In fact, officers at the Purabaya Terminal also asked about this because they didn’t believe it.
“At that time, the Garrison was asked by official people at the terminal. He was surprised, how come he arrived at Bungurasih Terminal so quickly,” said Syafiil.
Even though she was confused, the female passenger was still convinced that she was actually riding the Banyuwangi-Surabaya bus. He could even show tickets to Garrison officers and citizens who asked him. Strangely, the ticket was written in 1965.
“If I’m not mistaken, the passenger was from Peneleh, Surabaya. So he was surprised when he got off to Surabaya, how fast he was, he gave him a ticket to look at, it was 1965,” he added.
According to Syafiil, the Garrison and the brokers at the Bungurasih Terminal at that time still didn’t believe it. In fact, they even tried to chase and find the whereabouts of the bus. According to the passenger’s statement, the bus was called the Blood Bus.
“Then we chased it and it turned out there was no such thing as a Blood Bus. Usually, after dropping off passengers, the bus meets at the shelter to pick up more passengers. So, when we looked at the terminal, there was no bus,” explained Syafiil.
When asked further, the woman admitted that all the bus passengers were silent. They look like humans in general. Strangely, the only person who got off the bus was the woman.
“So he was the only one who got off by himself, the other passengers on the bus looked cold. Yes, man, he just said he doesn’t talk like that on the bus,” said Syafiil.
Syafiil continued, local people then linked the strange incident to a bus accident. This refers to the 1965 bus ticket that the female passenger showed.
