The latest public appearance of Albert of Monaco has not left anyone indifferent. The Monegasque sovereign has shown some mysterious reddish spots on his face for which no explanation has been offered. It was on August 15, at an event commemorating the 80th anniversary of the landing in Provence in World War II.
Leaders and personalities met at the French cemetery of Boulouris, where the remains of the soldiers who fell in that manoeuvre rest, for the tribute. The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, and the former president Nicolas Sarkozy stood out among the attendees, but the one who captured all the attention was Albert of Monaco due to the aforementioned hives, a total of seven, which have raised some questions about his state of health.
The event, which brought together figures of the likes of Emmanuel Macron and Nicolas Sarkozy, was overshadowed by concerns about the image of the Monegasque sovereign. At 66, Albert had already made headlines for his skin problems, and this time was no different.
The Royal Family of Monaco has not yet commented on the matter. Some European media have published reports on the origin of the spots. The German newspaper Bunte has suggested several possibilities. “High blood pressure, insect bites, injuries, an allergic reaction or sunburn?” they asked.
