Reports on social media about the death or injury of Russian State Duma deputy Adam Delimkhanov, who is close to the Chechen president, have raised many questions about the fate of the man considered second only to Ramzan Kadyrov in the Caucasus.
At first, Kirill Sazonov, a political analyst who fights for Ukraine, said that Delimkhanov’s motorcade had allegedly come under fire in Zaporozhye region, killing the lawmaker and 200 others.
The TV channel “Zvezda”, referring to the press service of the State Duma, reported that Delimkhanov was wounded. The press service of the lower house of the parliament told the Baza television channel that they had not reported on this and that all reports about the wounding of Delimkhanov came “from specific members of the parliament.”
A message appeared on Ramzan Kadyrov’s Telegram channel in which the head of Chechnya said he had no connection with Delimkhanov. “I am asking the Ukrainian intelligence service to provide information on which exact location and which positions are hit, so that I can still find my dear BROTHER. I promise a generous reward and ask for help,” the post said.
The Chairman of the State Duma of Russia, Vyacheslav Volodin, said that MP Adam Delimkhanov is “alive and healthy”. “We just talked to him. He is alive and well. What’s more, he wishes everyone well,” Volodin said.
Apti Alaudinov, commander of the Akhmat special forces, told the TASS news agency that Delimkhanov is “more alive than ever” and is currently in Chechnya and has gone to see Kadyrov. At the same time, a post soon appeared on Alaudinov’s Telegram channel, saying that he was withdrawing all units located in the Mariinsky district and heading to the “place of the incident” with Delimkhanov. The post is accompanied by numerous emoticons depicting vehicles.
