On the morning she was due to be discharged, June 14, the medical center alleges that the 59-year-old woman made the decision to leave alone in an Uber.
It should be noted that it was not the first time that he went to the hospital in Guatemala. Previously, she had already had cosmetic surgery on her breasts and liposuction, with Dr. Kevin Malouf. Her children assure that at that time she returned healthy and with satisfactory results.

To address the explanations requested by her relatives, the medical center released images of Floridalma Roque leaving the place, with her face bandaged and in a wheelchair.
However, Jorge Roque, one of her children, told Univision 41 that the woman who appears in the videos is not her mother.
“Basically, what they did was hide what the result (of the cosmetic surgery) was, because of malpractice or because of her health. It is not known, but what they did is quite cruel. How are you going to take out someone else by impersonating and putting my mother’s clothes on them?” he explained.
Floridalma Roque’s family assures that she is not the woman that the medical center showed her, but rather an imposter. Additionally, they assert that she never turned her phone back on after arriving at the hospital, that she did not know how to call an Uber and that she did not know the area either.
Kevin Malouf, the surgeon who treated Floridalma Roque, was arrested
The Honduran woman’s children reported the case to the Guatemalan Prosecutor’s Office and the investigations found other images where the same woman gets off the Uber and then gets into another vehicle. According to authorities, it is owned by the same doctor who treated Floridalma.
Forty days later, the surgeon, an anesthesiologist and two nurses were placed under arrest.
“I would like to believe that she is alive, that they are holding her, but now this has happened (the arrests of the medical team). What you expect is that unfortunately she is no longer alive, but we want her to be handed over to us. What did they do to her? Where did they leave her?” asks Jorge Roque.
In the Guatemalan court of justice, some mysterious images came to light in which Dr. Kevin Malouf and one of his nurses can be seen taking out bags and garbage cans.
The surgeon and the others arrested face charges of kidnapping and obstruction of justice. Currently, they remain under preventive detention, while investigations continue.
