Since Michael Schumacher was airlifted to hospital after a skiing accident in the French Alps in December 2013, very little information has emerged about his condition, reports Daily Star. The German F1 icon suffered life-threatening injuries. Schumacher survived the impact with his head on a rock, but was in an artificial sleep for several weeks.
Since then, his family has strictly guarded his privacy and the public has not seen him for almost 10 years. The condition of the seven-time world champion is so secretive that even his friends and some family members do not know about him.
Schumacher’s wife, Corinna, offered during the documentary on one of the streaming platforms in 2021 gave a small but powerful update on the 54-year-old rider’s condition when she said he was “different but here.”
However, fresh information about his condition has emerged from one of the most respected F1 journalists, Roger Benoitwho regularly smoked cigars with Schumacher after races and even received Schumacher’s yellow Benetton suit in which he won his first Grand Prix at Spa in 1992.
But Benoit only gave a heartbreaking answer. “There is only one answer to that question, and that is the one his son Mick gave in one of his rare interviews in 2022. He said he would give anything to be able to speak to his father. This sentence says it all. About how his father has been doing for over 3500 days. A hopeless case,” said the journalist.
