Luka Doncic is one of the candidates to get the MVP of the regular NBA League. The Slovenian of the Mavericks is picking up pace and is, once again, the leader of the franchise. Now it is Paul Pierce, MVP of the 2008 finals, who has praised the player.
And this praise is not from just anyone, well he was a member of the last ring made by the Celtics. For Pierce, Doncic has “a lot” of him.
“He looks like me in the way he plays. Seriously, I really do. It seems slow, lethargic … but he always achieves what he wants, “he says in ‘The Jump’.
Pierce also talks about the percentage of passing and shooting between the two: “He’s a better passer, but in scoring ability, we have a lot in common. “
The former Celtics player averaged a total of 20 points throughout his NBA career, which began in 1998 after being No. 10 in the draft. Pierce lived his best years in Boston, franchise that retired number 34 in his honor.
He retired in 2017, and in his career he was a member of the Celtics ‘big three’ that completed Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen.
Comparing the two, Doncic has far surpassed Pierce’s numbers in his second NBA year. Paul, at that time, averaged 19.5 points, 5.4 rebounds and 3 assists per 28.8 points, 9.4 rebounds and 8.8 assists of Luke.
Furthermore, Luka entered the Best Quintet of the season and premiered as ‘All Star’. Pierce took four years to be in the All-Star game.
