The Music Professions Union, led by artist Mostafa Kamel, has decided to suspend Mohamed Abdel Salam, the keyboard player, for failing to appear before the General Union to discuss the complaints filed against him.
And the Music Professions Union released a statement saying, “After reviewing the memorandum submitted by the Legal Affairs concerning Mr. Mohamed Abd al-Salam Moawad Ahmed (keyboardist), he is the holder of an annual permit and failing to appear before the Union General to discuss the grievances against him.”
And the press release continued: “Therefore, the Syndicate of Musical Professions has resolved, pursuant to law no. 35 of 1978 and its amendments, and to the internal regulations, to suspend the aforementioned from work until the preliminary investigation of the complaints submitted has been completed against him.”
And the Musicians Syndicate, led by artist Mostafa Kamel, has lifted the suspension of festival singer Omar Kamal and fined him £50,000 after he petitioned to reduce the fine instead of £100,000, due to his singing without permission from the Musicians’ Union in a number of Arab and European countries.
