Milan Schelinger collaborated with the bands Projektil and The Plastic People of the Universe. Guitarist, singer, brother of the better-known Jiří Schelinger and former chairman of the monarchist party died last Friday at the age of 70.
About death informed Novinky.cz server. Milan Schelinger performed with the songs of his brother Jiří, who himself died in 1981. He also published a book about his sibling and in 2011 unveiled a commemorative plaque to him in Čestmírova Street in Prague’s Nuslí.
It was in Nuslí that Milan Schelinger spent a large part of his life. He was born on February 18, 1952 in Bousov. The father of the Schelinger brothers was a music teacher, Milan started playing the violin and later the guitar as a child.
“In Čestmírova Street, where we lived, there were only two cars parked. Brewery horses pulling wagons with barrels or blue postal wagons also pulled by horses drove along the streets. Among other things, he was an artist, he organized several exhibitions with Vladimír Renčín. He was also involved in politics. Between 1997 and 2001, he chaired the Czech Crown, the monarchist party of Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia.
