Les Musiques en été is back to liven up the Geneva summer season after being canceled last year due to the health crisis. For this 2021 edition, two large open-air venues are hosting the event: the Botanical Garden and La Grange Park.

The programming this year is predominantly Swiss, with a few international sizes, the City of Geneva, which organizes Music in the summer, said on Tuesday. A total of 32 concerts will be offered throughout the season. They will take place on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at the botanical garden and on Thursdays and Fridays at La Grange.
Among the guests of this edition, singer and musician OY and her space opera. The Orchester de la Suisse romande (OSR) and singer Afra Kane will pay tribute to Ella Fitzgerald on the stage that bears her name at La Grange Park. Groups of various origins will bring a multicultural touch to the event.
The Emotional Landscape project, for its part, will cover songs by Icelandic singer Björk with old instruments. The Swiss cellist and Ophélie Gaillard will play music from cult films. Erika Stuky will tackle the titles of Jimi Hendrix, while the Geneva rapper Slimka will end the festival on August 27.
