The jubilee national music award brought together the legends of the Ukrainian stage and young artists.
On February 16, the Ukraine Palace hosted the awards ceremony of the jubilee National Music Award Ukrainian Song of the Year 2021.
Before the start of the show, legends of the Ukrainian scene and young artists walked the red carpet: Tina Karol, Irina Bilyk, Natalia Mogilevskaya, Nastya Kamenskikh (NK), Verka Serdyuchka, Sergey Babkin, Tayune, Pavel Zibrov and Anna Trincher, Artem Pivovarov, Anna Butkevich, Gena VITER, Alina Poplavskaya, Mint, Mozgi, Kazka, Antitila, as well as Mikhail Poplavsky and Oleg Vinnik.
“Jubilee (1991-2021) National Music Award Ukrainian Song of the Year, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence. Today we award the best performers of the country who create unique Ukrainian music, those who strengthen our spirituality, develop culture and glorify Ukraine in the world who, with their many years of creativity with national traditions, ethnicity, love for their native land and music, has become a legend and an example for many generations. Ukrainians are the most singing nation in Europe!” – said the creator and general producer of the award Mikhail Poplavsky.
In turn, Oleg Vinnik noted the scale and uniqueness of the project.
“I’m grateful to be involved in this project. It’s so cool to collect the best songs of 30 years on one stage. I want this award to be forever. I’m happy that modern Ukrainian artists, rock singers, rappers, representatives of different genres continue “Ukrainian song. Artists sincerely convey their feelings in their native language, do it stylishly, modernly. May the Ukrainian song of the year succeed! It’s so cool to have such an award in your country, in your land,” Vinnik said.
During the show, he presented the premiere of the song White Dove.
The hosts of the ceremony were Hryhoriy Reshetnik and Lilia Rebrik, as well as Mykhailo Poplavsky and Tina Karol, who received an award in the Legend of Ukrainian Song nomination.
The same award was given to Natalya Mogilevskaya, Oleg Vinnik, Mikhail Poplavsky, Verka Serdyuchka and Irina Bilyk.
Mogilevskaya performed a potpourri, which she first presented at the Independence Day concert at the Olympic.
In turn, Verka Serdyuchka presented the first Ukrainian-language song in 20 years There is a proposal.
“Mikhail Mikhailovich is one of the few in our country who has really been popularizing the Ukrainian song for many years, bringing it to new heights. In the Pride of Ukrainian song nomination, the winners were the MOZGI group, which, together with Potap, performed a Cossack potpourri. Nastya Kamensky was awarded for the hit Feelings.
The Antibody group received an award for the performance of the song Become.
KAZKA was nominated for the performance of the song Mint, and DZIDZIO – for Marichka.
Popular young performers received awards in the Hope of the Ukrainian song nomination: Wellboy for the song Cherry, Artem Pivovarov (Mirage), Sergey Babkin (She knows), Anna Butkevich (I have a sin), Tayune (Looks like a flower), Gena VITER and the YANTSA group ( Glade), Mint (PAINTS), Alina Poplavska (Yours again).
Poplavsky noted the main goal of the award – the popularization of Ukrainian songs and Ukrainian-speaking artists.
