The Murex d’Or routine and the secret of Sawsan Badr and Nisreen Amin’s absence

US Ambassador to Lebanon Dorothy Shea presents Mayas with an award (Facebook)

It was an awards ceremonyPort MurexIn its 22nd session it vanished, in the absence of a clear absence of stars who succeeded each other in some artistic works, but were excluded without knowing the reasons.

In addition to the slogan “Get up, Lebanon”, favoritism appeared in the distribution of the prize. While bright names were absent, the ceremony saw the honor of actors and artists who have had no significant presence in the past year.

Also in this session, it became clear that the award supervisors were dependent on the joint Arab drama production companies, in particular, as evidenced by the number of awards received by Eagle Films and Cedars Art Production, as the “For Death 2” series won. out of five awards, among them there is an award for Maguy Bou Ghosn for the category of best Arab actress. As for Cyrine Abdel Nour, she won the jury’s Excellence Award in the Best Arab Actress category for her role in Nasser Fakih’s “Dor Al-Omar” series, directed by Saeed Al-Marouk.

The reason for the absence of the two Egyptian actresses, Sawsan Badr and her colleague Nisreen Amin, was not known, although those present reported rumors about the last minute disagreement on how to receive the awards, and the category they won, which led to the retirement of Badr (best actress) and Amin (best role). , while she won Ilham Shaheen With the title of Best Actress for her role in the series “Bloo ‘Al-Rouh” directed by Kamila Abu Zekry, Egyptian actress Menna Shalaby also received an award for her role in the same work. Mohamed Ramadan attended and was awarded an award for all of his work, while Tunisian singer Latifa also received an award, despite the lack of her artistic and lyrical works during this period.

It was also extraordinary that the US Ambassador to Beirut, Dorothy Shea, attended and gave her a special award to the “Mayas” dance company.

The evening of the Murex D’or Awards this year brought nothing new, but the evening seemed closer to the satisfaction of companies and actors, and the insistence on the survival of this event, even if its glow is almost disappearing. .

It was clear that the organizers of the ceremony sought to impose a virtual presence of “Murex d’Or” by inviting social media activists to attend the ceremony and convey the image across their pages to the world, as well as using what is known as influencers on the sites to present the awards on stage.

Enthusiasm and passion are absent for another year at the Murex D’or Awards, and the event turns into a simple annual routine and a reality that is difficult to develop and change.
