The murder on Grünerløkka: Man in his 30s arrested

– He was arrested at 11 pm last night at his home. The arrest went smoothly, says acting leader Ingebjørg Hansen at the investigation section for murder and attempted murder in the Oslo police.

She does not want to elaborate on what type of conflict the police believe the two have had or how long they believe it has been going on.

– What we are working on now is to uncover what this is about. But we do not believe that this has anything to do with any gang conflict, Hansen says to TV 2.

Prison meeting Friday

It was at 02.45 on Wednesday night that the police were notified that a person had been stabbed outside Anker Apartment in Københavngata, which is located on the upper Grünerløkka.

The man who is now charged will be tried for questioning on Thursday, Hansen states. On Friday, he will be produced for custody.

He is “well known to the police from the past”, but Hansen will not answer whether he has been convicted of serious offenses.

Police believe the murder happened outdoors. The man was sent to hospital, but died quickly from the injuries.

Great video work

The police quickly obtained a lot of video in the area, but Hansen will not answer whether they have the actual murder on video.

– A lot of work is going on to go through the video material and map movements, she says.

The man’s defender, lawyer Jan Christian Kvanvik, has not yet responded to TV 2’s inquiries.
