The murder of Sarah Everard: – Shocking details

The policeman who has pleaded guilty the murder of 33-year-old Sarah Everard in London in March may have used the corona rules as a pretext to arrest her. It writes Sky News.

On March 3, Sarah Everard had planned to have dinner with a friend.

The visit took place during the third national shutdown in England, and the 33-year-old therefore broke the corona rules by having dinner with a friend this evening.

She was about 1.5 kilometers from her home in London when the accused confronted her.

An eyewitness saw the police handcuff Everard and arrest her, and pictures of them were captured by video cameras on two buses, a garbage truck and a police car.

“He may have used the corona rules as a reason for the arrest and to get her into the car,” said investigator Simon Harding, who had a key role in the investigation, according to Sky News.

Videos from the scene show that the police officer and Everard had a conversation, and Harding believes that the accused has abused his authority as a police officer to get her into the car.

The 48-year-old kidnapped Sarah Everard in a rental car on March 3, before raping and killing her, according to the indictment. Couzens has admitted kidnapping and rape, as well as being linked to the murder.

The kidnapping took less than five minutes, according to BBC.

Has created reactions

The murder led to large demonstrations against, among other things, violence against women. The reaction was further intensified when the police this spring broke a memorial service for Everard by force, because the participants broke the corona rules.

“This terrible case has triggered a wave of emotions among women who do not feel safe at night,” said Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

The wife of the accused police officer says that she is as shocked as everyone else, and says that her husband had never shown signs of violence or behaved suspiciously, according to Sky News.
