In May 2023, G. was convicted of hitting a fellow villager with an ax while drinking alcohol in a quarrel. As explained in the department, taking into account the fact that G., being under probation control, committed a particularly serious crime, a pre-trial investigation into negligence was launched against the probation officers.
“In accordance with the instructions of the President, a block of legislative amendments is being prepared aimed at strengthening criminal liability for especially dangerous crimes against a person.
The issues of revising sanctions for these crimes, changing the procedure for imposing and releasing punishments, canceling a criminal record, and the conditions for establishing administrative supervision of persons serving sentences for grave and especially grave crimes against a person are being worked out.

Recall, a girl born in 2018 was killed in Saryagash district. During the operational-search activities, the police found the body of a girl with bodily injuries in the house of one of the villagers. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed the Prosecutor General’s Office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs to carefully investigate the circumstances of the tragedy.
