It was Patrick Arnstad (20), Pimpaporn Arnesen (52) and Olaf Arnstad (71) who were found dead at an address in Trondheim last week.
The next of kin have been informed that the police will release the names.
The three deceased were found in a residential building in Trondheim on Thursday last week.
The police have previously stated that the three are related, but have not wanted to say anything about their relationship.
Now the police state that Pimpaporn Arnesen and Olaf Arnstad are former cohabitants, while Patrick Arnstad is their son.
The police are investigating the deaths as two murders and one suicide, and Olaf Arnstad has been charged in the case. His defender has been informed of the release of the names.
The police believe the murders must have taken place on Wednesday afternoon or evening, around a day before they were found.
The background to the murders is currently unknown. The police have so far not released any information about how they believe the murders should have happened, beyond the fact that their main hypothesis is that it involves two murders and a suicide.
The police were back at the scene on Tuesday this week to carry out new forensic investigations.
