People over the age of 60, healthcare professionals and vulnerable or immunosuppressed people will be able to receive the second booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, popularly known as the “4th dose”, starting next Monday, September 26.
The Municipality will administer this dose at the same time as the flu vaccine, at the vaccination facilities set up in the old Military Hospital, which has extended its hours from 10:00 to 14:00, from Monday to Friday.
The vaccine to be administered is the new bivalent effective against the omicron variant, of which the Municipality has already received 1,800 from Moderna and another 8,640 from Pfizer. Likewise, it expects to receive another 5,650 next Monday, also from Pfizer, so there is currently no risk of shortages.
In case of infection, it is recommended not to inject the booster vaccine for up to 3 months for the elderly, vulnerable and immunosuppressed and up to 5 months for the rest.
Vaccination will be carried out by appointment, through the Municipality website, which can be accessed via this link.
