The Municipality of Vigo will bring in plenary for its approval an extraordinary modification of the credit for “almost 30 million euros”, five more than those announced by the mayor a few days ago, to carry out various works in the city and pay the difference in the electricity supply contract for a price increaseestimated at € 7.3 million.
As Abel Caballero explains, in the statements sent to the media, new funds available (when there will be final approval in plenary) 7.3 million euros will be allocated to the “integration of the payment of the electricity price”.
Thus, among the increases in energy supply, the commissioner gave some examples: the price has gone up both in public lighting, as in the cost of traffic lights, in the lighting of parks and gardens, in the supply of public schools or sport facilities .
Last February the Municipality of Vigo awarded Iberdrola the energy supply contract for this yearfor a total of 6.5 million.
The mayor also unveiled other actions that will receive funds from this extraordinary credit: the humanization of García Barbón between Isaac Peral and Sanjurjo Badía; the humanization of via Pablo Iglesias and the rearrangement of the roundabout on via Olympic; the humanization of Cesáreo Vázquez; the cover of CEIP Frián; the covered ‘skate park’ of Navia; the completion of the Greenway; the installation of a monument to Rosalía de Castro or the reform of Porta do Sol.
