The mayor of Baqesta, Ibrahim Mezher, revealed that the first case of cholera was recorded in the Al-Sharhabeel area in Baqsta, noting that after communicating with the Ministry of Public Health, the source of transmission of the infection was identified. , which is the filling of a tank with water by one of the tanks.
Mezher indicated that it will ask South Lebanon Water Corporation to increase water pumping in the area to reduce water filling through the reservoirs, adding that it will communicate with some benefactors to help provide diesel fuel to pump water from wells in the area.
Mezher concluded that council will take appropriate steps to secure cholera tests to confirm any new cases of residents’ infection, asking everyone to take precautions and check the water sources that are filled or used.
