Residents of Rancagua can report the electricity company for the lack of service and losses due to this, using a form that the municipality has provided for this purpose.
In this regard, Mayor Emerson Avendaño pointed out that “we have provided a form to make and promote a collective complaint to CGE for all the damages it has caused. In addition to that, we provide individual advice to each of the residents who decide to make a private complaint.”
Through the National Corporation of Consumers and Users (CONADECUS), they hope to expedite this action against the company, and “we are also going to file a complaint against the General Electricity Company,” said the authority. This is due to the lack of service in plazas and public spaces in the regional capital.
Furthermore, Mayor Avendaño stressed that “it is outrageous that some sectors of the city continue without electricity, especially in the rural sector, in addition to how outrageous is the CGE’s proposal of approximately 25 thousand pesos for the inconvenience.”
For her part, Councillor Valentina Cáceres said that “since the voluntary collective procedure is not applicable to our region, the municipality has decided to file a collective lawsuit. How will this be done? A form has been made available where residents can send us their complaint order and all the requirements by means of photographs, because as a municipality we are going to represent them.”
He also said that “legal advice will also be provided to those SMEs that are governed by the SME statute, because even greater losses can be quantified.”
Meanwhile, Councilwoman Viviana Morales said that “the link for residents to fill out the form is on the municipality’s social networks. We must maintain the unity of the residents because they are resisting in their homes. The councilors are going to support this collective demand for the mockery that is being made of the residents.”
Finally, Councilman Cristian Toledo said that “the first thing is to support the municipality for the action it is taking, since there are hundreds of residents in different places in Rancagua who are facing a bigger problem and what better than the municipality to take charge of supporting these residents who are going through hard times.”
