The municipality admits that a part of Covid-19 patients registered in Riebiņi municipality do not actually live there – in Latvia

It is possible that part of the Covid-19 patients registered in Riebiņi municipality in the territory of the municipality have only been declared, but do not actually live there, admitted the public relations specialist of the municipality of Rolands Naglis.

According to the data of the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (SPKC), a total of nine Covid-19-infected people were registered in Riebiņi municipality on Wednesday. Naglis confirmed that the cases were not related to the social care center “Rušona” or the social home for the elderly “Rudenāji”.

The representative of the municipality admitted that some of the patients could only be declared in Riebiņi region, but actually work and live in Preiļi. The site does not have information about the outbreak in the region.

Also, the patients have not asked for the support of the municipality to provide isolation or food.

It has already been reported that according to the data published by the SPKC on Wednesday, nine infected people have been registered in Riebiņi municipality, which is at least five people more than before.

In the past day, six new cases of Covid-19 were recorded in the 2004 tests, and one person who was confirmed to be infected with Covid-19 died. The deceased patient was in the age group of 75 to 80 years and had several chronic diseases.

Another 28 Covid-19 patients recovered last day, which means that there are currently 169 active cases in Latvia. To date, 1,163 patients or 85.1% of those infected have recovered.

A total of 244,827 Covid-19 examinations were performed in Latvia, of which 0.56% of cases or a total of 1366 persons had been confirmed to be infected with Covid-19. A total of 34 people who had been confirmed to have Covid-19 died.
