The municipal Food Bank of San Javier is already a reality motivated by the situation of vulnerability that the economic consequences of the health alarm is generating in many families in the municipality.
The councilor for Social Rights, Estíbaliz Masegosa explained that the offer of some companies in this regard has served to encourage this initiative, which has the collaboration of Cáritas, the Red Cross and the Niñito de Jesús association.
The mayor, José Miguel Luengo and the mayor of Social Rights Estíbaliz Masegosa have presented the implementation of this project “that is born to stay at least during this year” and that It will be located in a 400-square-meter premises donated by the local company José Díaz García S.A. at the South exit of San Javier.
The municipal bank will be nourished by donations from companies and individuals as well as the regional Bank, and the acquisitions of the City Council, with the collaboration of Cáritas San Javier and Santiago de La Ribera, the Red Cross and the Niñito Jesús association, with which until now food distribution has been managed.
