The municipal council in Varna adopted a declaration requesting the withdrawal of the bill for the construction of wind power plants in the Black Sea.
34 municipal councilors voted in support of the document, 4 were “against”, BNT reported.
The topic was raised by the councilors from “Vazrazhdane”, by representatives of the Varna Association of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers, fishermen’s associations and environmentalists.
The declaration will be sent to the National Assembly.
Yesterday, the municipal councilors of Shabla adopted a declaration against the bill, which provides for the construction of wind power plants in the Bulgarian water area of the Black Sea. The declaration was sent to institutions and political parties.
With six votes “for” and two “abstentions” at an extraordinary meeting, councilors from the local parliament in Shabla adopted a declaration that was sent to the National Assembly, expressed in one sentence – “Dear Mr. Zhelyazkov, dear ladies and gentlemen, People’s Representatives , with this statement we express our disagreement with the submitted “Bill for energy from renewable sources in the maritime spaces”.
Shabla was the third maritime municipality in the Dobrich region after Balchik and Kavarna, which expressed its disagreement with the possibility of deploying RES plants in the Black Sea. A number of organizations from the “Fishing” and “Tourism” branches also declared against the bill.
