The Mukomuko Health Bureau trains the school’s Jumantik cadres

Nusantaratv. com – The government of Mukomuko Regency, Bengkulu, through the local health bureau, will immediately form a jumantik monitoring team in schools to prevent dengue fever (DHF) caused by the bite of the Aedes Aegypti mosquito.

“This year, the training of Jumantik cadres and the aim of training them are in the elementary schools of this area,” Mukomuko District Health Bureau Chief Bustam Bustomo told Mukomuko on Tuesday.

He said the training of Jumantik cadres in primary schools in the regions in 2023 will use a local government (SK) decree.

He said the local government has trained Jumantik cadres in schools as well as dealing with mosquito larvae causing DHF in schools and teaching students how to deal with mosquito larvae in their homes.

The local government has trained Jumantik cadres to go to schools to provide knowledge to school students in this area from an early age on how to deal with the mosquito larvae that cause DHF.

He said the local government in addition to training Jumantik cadres and carrying out various efforts such as fumigation at places where cases have been found, including conducting Epidemiological Investigations (PE).

However, he said, efforts to prevent the spread of DHF by fogging in places where DHF cases are found are not effective if done continuously because they can render mosquitoes immune.

Apart from that, he said, his agency through the puskesmas regularly urges residents to eradicate mosquito nests (PSN) and clean and healthy living behaviors (PHBS) to prevent dengue in their respective environments.

Meanwhile, he said, as many as 35 local residents have tested positive for dengue fever, up from a year earlier by 28 people.

However, out of 35 residents who tested positive for DHF in this area for two consecutive years, no resident died from the disease. (Ant)
