The MTA offers extended public transportation services for the weekend of July 4 – Telemundo New York (47)

NEW YORKNew York City subway service will be extended over the holiday weekend due to the July 4 celebration with options for those who choose to travel to the beaches, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority announced Monday, ( MTA).

On the other hand, the Long Island Rail Road and Metro-North Railroad will also offer deals and the return of the popular program “Summer saturdays“.

“Driving in traffic to the beach is the worst, especially if there are screaming kids in the back seat,” said Sarah Meyer, MTA’s director of customer service. “So taking the train is an option to avoid traffic and relax with your friends (or children) on the bus.”

The MTA has carried out cleaning and disinfection protocols since the pandemic began and houses public vaccination centers in Grand Central and Penn Station. Masks are required on board trains and buses and on indoor platforms.

The subway:

The metro will operate on a Saturday schedule on Monday, July 5. For beach lovers, the extension of the S line runs from Rockaway Park until Rockaway Blvd It will connect to any train on line A on weekends starting July 3 and will also operate on Monday July 5.
