From August 5, the Spanish comedy “Labais boss” will be shown on cinema screens in Latvia. “The Good Boss” by Spanish screenwriter and director Fernando Leon de Aranoa is a comic satirical story about human nature starring the great actor Javier Bardem.

Julio Blanco (Javier Bardem) is the charismatic owner of a scale manufacturing company who treats his employees like family. An important commission is waiting for us to arrive in the small Spanish town, which gives an award for outstanding achievements in business, so everything in the company must be perfect. But as always happens, nothing goes as planned. The problems that the boss has to deal with come one after the other. Family is no longer so obedient, and its head not so understanding or tolerant.
In 2022, the film received the Goya Award – an analogue of “Oscar” in Spain. It has been nominated in 20 nominations, won in six, including as the best film of the year, best actor, best director.
