The movie Monster Hunter is reminiscent of a new (and pretty bad) teaser

The Monster Hunter series belongs to the family gold of the Capcom company. The famous game brand has been published since 2004, the year before last it applied for a word and continued with a subtitle World has achieved massive success. Sales several times surpassed the successes of previous episodes, as of June this year, the game has found its way to sixteen million players (it is therefore the best-selling game of Capcom of all time) and the equally successful last year’s data disc followed on a great foundation. Iceborne.

Hand in hand with mainstream success, of course, are plans on how to further exploit the brand, even outside the gaming industry. We have known about plans to conquer the silver screen for four years now, and I cannot say that this idea has so far filled me with optimism.

The main culprit is the fact that Paul WS Anderson is taking the fabric. He has experience with game adaptations, at the root of his career lies the film adaptation of the fighting game Mortal Kombat from 1995. But he left a bigger (and unfortunate) imprint on the field of films according to games by Resident Evil, whose films he either directly directed or at least produced. the main role was played by his wife Milla Jovovich.

The story of the film Monster Hunter revolves around an elite military unit, which falls into the world of the game with the portal. There he has to deal with monsters and ideally also find a way home. If the plot reminds you of the worse action movies from the turn of the 80’s and 90’s of the last century, you are not alone. And you’re not even wondering when was the last time you saw elite military units with rotating machine guns in Monster Hunter.

After a relatively long wait, we have now seen a teaser that warns of the upcoming release. Filming took place from September to December 2018, and the film was originally expected to be released in cinemas in June this year, but this was thwarted by a coronavirus pandemic. However, the short, just 13-second teaser promises that the film will arrive in theaters this December, so if you can’t wait for the elite unit’s battle with the enraged Diablos to unravel, you can start cutting the meter.

In addition to Milly Jovovich, Ron Perlman or a rapper with the nickname TI should appear in the film.

Although the whole project is rather embarrassing in the fan’s soul, maybe in the end it will be at least as terrible as it will be fun.
