the movie could finally be released on Disney +

Like the blockbuster Mulan, it could be that Black Widow has a digital release on the Disney + platform. Of course, that wouldn’t prevent the Marvel Studios film from enjoying a theatrical release when theaters broadly reopen.

Phase 4 of the MCU will begin with the long-awaited Black Widow. Initially scheduled for May 1, its release was first delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The blockbuster was then postponed to November 6, 2020. Disney had confirmed that his film had a theatrical release. According to the latest leak, Black Widow could finally arrive on Disney+.

The release of Black Widow is still very uncertain

At the start of the pandemic, Disney was determined to release its films in theaters and not on its digital platform. Nevertheless, he soon realized that the significant delay caused by waiting for a cinema release is not the best solution. It is for this reason that he has just announced that his blockbuster Mulan will be available on September 4 on Disney + for $ 29.99 in the US.

The theatrical release of Black Widow therefore seems even more uncertain. A new leak would confirm this idea. Our colleagues from MCU Cosmic have discovered the presence of Black Widow on the Movies Anywhere streaming platform which is a subsidiary of Disney. The release is still indicated for November 6, 2020. Of course, this is in no way an official confirmation of the arrival of Black Widow on Disney +. Also, if the blockbuster hadn’t been delayed a few months ago, it would roughly correspond to DVD and VOD output.

Either way, we should not jump to conclusions. It probably makes more sense for Disney to observe first the success or failure of Mulan’s release on its video-on-demand platform. If this one exceeds expectations, there is a good chance that Black Widow will meet the same fate without depriving it of a later theatrical release.
