The MotoGP World Championship Drama in Qatar GP: Di Giannantonio’s Victory, Martin’s Disappointing Result, and the Controversy with Michelin

The MotoGP World Championship it will be decided in Valencia, Spain. The Qatar GP has seen win Di Giannantonio with the Ducati which will be owned by Marc Marquez next year. An important victory for the Italian, given that next season he may no longer race in MotoGP. The weekend had started in the best way possible by Jorge Martin. After winning the Sprint, the Spanish driver had come close to Pecco Bagnaia in the rankings.

Sunday’s match, however, changed the cards on the table. Bagnaia, in fact, finished second with Martin who had to settle for tenth place. A disappointing result that causes the Spaniard to lose many points and is now 21 points behind the Italian. The gap is not irrecoverable but Bagnaia is clearly in a much better position than Martin who will be called upon to take risks in order to get the most in the final race.

It must be said that at the end of the Qatar GP, Martin he argued with Michelin for the performance of the tyres, blamed for the disappointing result of the race.

There are tires that work and don’t work. I’m not saying it was done on purpose, but it doesn’t make sense like that

For the Spaniard, it is a scandal that a World Cup is decided in this way. Returning to the race, Di Giannantonio was the only one who was able to keep up with Bagnaia who had immediately tried to keep a blistering pace at the start, immediately taking the lead of the group. In the first phase of the race, too Luca Marini, Alex Marquez e Brad Binderthey had tried to stay with the leading duo but subsequently lost contact.

With four laps to go, Di Giannantonio found space to pass. Bagnaia tried to respond to the Gresini rider, but went long and took a big risk. At that point, Di Giannantonio found himself with a small margin over Bagnaia which he managed until the end.

Good third place for Luca Marini who defended himself from the returning Aprilia in the final stages of the GP Maverick Vinales who then finished fourth. Next weekend we will therefore race in Valencia where the drivers’ title will be awarded.
