The actress and singer lends her features to a former military sniper, ready to do anything to ensure the safety of her daughter, whom she abandoned twelve years earlier. She had made the decision to entrust her daughter to trusted people for fear that the dangerous assassins who constantly track her down would harm her. Years later, the attackers tracked down the child and kidnapped her. If the heroine has taken refuge in the depths of Alaska, she ends up coming out of the shadows to protect her offspring. Combining action and drama, this thriller quickly climbed the top of the most viewed films on Netflix, dethroning in passing AKA with Alban Lenoir.

After the buzz surrounding the film, it’s no surprise that The Mother continues to monopolize the first place of the most viewed films on Netflix. The feature film also signed the record for the best start of the year 2023 by accumulating 83 million hours of viewing in its first weekend on the platform. An impressive figure which allowed him to beat the record of Luther: Fallen Sun. The film starring Idris Elba had amassed 65 million viewing hours in its first weekend of release.
