According to the documents of his divorce from Charles Vallow, the mother thought she was God and even threatened to kill him. Threats which would have been pronounced a month before his death. Lori Vallow then remarried to Chad Daybell, who himself had lost his wife two weeks before the nuptials. If initially, the authorities concluded to a natural death, the body of Tammy Daybell has since been exhumed in order to allow the police to investigate this now suspect case.

According to several relatives, Lori Vallow would have joined the religious cult called “Preparing a People”, which includes her new husband, long an active member of the radical group affiliated with Mormons and whose major concern is the end of the world and the return of Jesus on Earth.

In a moving video posted on Youtube at the end of December, Calby Rayn, Lori Vallow’s eldest son, called on his mother to surrender: “It hurts so much. You have the power to put an end to this. I grew up with you, with Tylee and JJ. We had a life and it seems that today all that has never existed. There are so many things I want to say, I am so angry. I want you to find in yourself the capacity to end this situation. And I’m doing this video here because I can’t even call my own mom, and it sucks. I’ve never been so heartbroken, you know ”.
