The Most Valuable Vinyl Records: Wu-Tang Clan, The Beatles, and Elvis Presley

Despite the dominance of streaming services and CDs, vinyl is still a popular option for music lovers. Collectors in particular value records – some of which are very valuable.

The most expensive record in the world is a single piece by Wu-Tang Clan from 2015 called “Once Upon A Time In Shaolin”. It never officially came onto the market and was sold for 1.77 million euros.

One of the most expensive records from a commercial release is “The Beatles” from 1968 with the serial number 0000001. The record comes from the private collection of Ringo Starr and was sold for 700,000 euros.

Another unique item is the first record ever released by Elvis Presley, “My Happiness/That’s When Your Heartaches Begin” from 1953. A buyer paid an impressive 265,000 euros for it. Owner Jack White later reissued the record so that other music fans could also enjoy it.

Even when records are signed by the artists, their value often increases enormously. The Beatles’ 1967 record “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” achieved a record price of 255,000 euros because all four Beatles signed it.
