Only two carmakers made it into the top ten of Interbrand Best Global Brands. Tesla finished in the top ten, but showed the fastest growth of a hundred brands.

The overview of the hundred most valuable brands Best Global Brands, compiled regularly by Interbrands, was again dominated this year by technology giants such as Apple, Amazon or Tesla, whose value reaches hundreds of billions of dollars and grew by an average of about 25% year on year. For us, however, the carmakers are more interesting, with only two in the top ten.
Toyota is ranked seventh in the automotive industry, which is expected to be around $ 54.1 billion, up five percent year-on-year. The eighth place was taken by the Mercedes-Benz brand with a value of $ 50.8 billion, which improved by 3 percent year-on-year.

BMW came in 12th (41.6 billion, + 5%) and Tesla came in 14th with $ 36.3 billion. At Tesla, however, the year-on-year growth in value is much more impressive, which belongs to the absolute top of the entire overview.
As part of Interbrand’s research, Tesla improved by an incredible 184 percent year-on-year. In second place in terms of year-on-year growth, the Adobe and PayPal brands ended up, recording the same growth of “only” 36 percent.

However, it should be added that the Interbrand ranking is just one of many. For example, this year’s Kantar BrandZ chart, which can track different data, rated Tesla as the most valuable car brand with a value of $ 42.6 billion, and year-on-year value growth was reportedly as high as 275 percent. According to BrandZ, Toyota finished second among carmakers with a value of $ 26.9 billion and a year-on-year loss of five percent.
However, the truth remains that Tesla has been really doing well lately. Despite the chip crisis, the carmaker reported record sales in the third quarter and is slowly preparing to launch the Berlin Gigafactory, which will certainly help the statistics again.
