MADRID – Two of the three most used passwords in Spain can be cracked by hackers in just 1 second. It’s actually not that difficult when you consider that two of the three most commonly used “contraseñas” in Spain are “123456” and 123456789″ while the third is “swing”, which can be decrypted in six seconds according to computer security company ESET in a recently published NordPass report .
Looking at the 2021 and 2022 listings, according to ESET, there are few changes. In 2021 the password ‘12345’ was still at the top of the list but in 2022 it is one digit higher with ‘123456’ being the most used password in Spain while ‘12345’ dropped to fourth position.
The top 25 contains many numeric passwords with consecutive numbers that are very easy for hackers to crack. One says “123456”, followed by “123456789” (2), “swing” (3), “12345” (4), “12345678” (5), “1234” (6), “1234567890” (7), ‘000000’ (8), ‘password’ (9) and ‘1234567’ (10) complete the top ten.

Holland and Belgium
