When developing any power unit, automakers always make compromises, which is why some engines lack horsepower, but make up for it in torque. Other engines demonstrate excellent dynamics, but are unreliable, and other power plants consume too much fuel, but can work for decades.

One of the options that received the largest number of negative reviews from commentators was the line of engines from Korean brands Hyundai and Come on entitled Theta II. This is about 2- and 2.4-liter gasoline engineswhich were also installed on such popular models in our country as Kia Sportage and Kia Optimaand Kia Stinger and Genesis G70.

Let us recall that the main problem with such Korean power units is poor design of their oil pumpas well as failure of the catalyst, due to which the engine cylinders were damaged even at low mileage.
