The most unfortunate country in the European Union has been named. Things are a little better in Germany

Bulgaria has become the unluckiest country in the European Union for the second year. Germany is slightly ahead of it and is also at the bottom of the ranking, reports December 10 Independent with reference to Eurostat.

Among the criteria for the level of life satisfaction are the level of education, family and financial stability, leisure time, and interaction in society. Bulgaria scored 5.6 points out of 10 possible. Germany scored 6.5 points in the ranking. Experts point to economic problems and the migration crisis.

The happiest EU country was Austria with a score of 7.9 points. It is followed by Poland, Finland and Romania with a score of 7.7 points.

Italy, Spain and France are at 7.1 points.

It is interesting to note that low-income countries such as Romania and Poland are among those where life satisfaction is highest, highlighting the complexity of the relationship between subjective well-being and economic well-being, Eurostat notes.
