Melissa Sloan is covered in ink from head to toe – there is literally no part of her body that hasn’t gone through the tattoo machine. She believes she is the most tattooed person in the world and wants to prove it with a Guinness World Record.
But despite loving her body and face and continuing to get three tattoos a week, the 46-year-old Welsh mother-of-two realized it was getting in the way – in all aspects of her life.
Due to her collection of tattoos, she has been banned from numerous places including schools, pubs and tattoo parlors, including not being able to start work because of her ‘unique’ appearance.
Melissa struggles not only with finding a job, but also with access to the school her children attend. At the end of last year, she was banned from school, forced to watch her children’s Christmas play through the window because people didn’t accept her alternative appearance.
“No Christmas parties for me, and when I go to my child’s school, they don’t invite me in.” says Melissa.
Even tattoos are a problem, as tattoo artists refuse to work on her face due to fears that she is addicted to the ink.
The mother is also prohibited from visiting restaurants.
Every inch of Melissa’s face, 46, is covered in ink and her cheeks, chin and forehead are painted with intricate designs of flowers and crucifixes. And that’s not all. The mother decided she wasn’t satisfied with one layer of ink, so I applied a second, then a third layer.
“I’m trying to get into the Guinness Book of Records”Melissa states her goal.
Every week the woman makes 3 new drawings. In order to reduce the cost of tattooing, her partner did it.
“I’m addicted to tattoos, I get three a week and I’ll never stop – if I live to be 70 I’ll get them again“, says Melissa.
