Iceland has been ranked as the world’s safest country for several years in a row.
Ukraine in the ranking of the most peaceful countries in the world was in 153rd place out of 163, while a year earlier it was in 142nd place, while Russia she dropped from 154 to 160.
First of all, the low positions of both countries were affected by the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.

In general, the place of a country in the peacefulness rating is influenced by the presence of conflicts or wars on their territory, participation in them on the territory of other countries, the number of deaths due to wars / conflicts, relations with neighboring countries, the crime rate, the number of refugees, terrorism, political instability, the level of dictatorship, the number of prisoners, freedom of protest, the level of militarization, the presence of nuclear weapons, participation in peacekeeping missions, and so on.
