“On February 20, we are opening the “Railway” tunnel, which is a unique facility with all protection systems, built with a new technological method,” announced the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Andrey Tsekov in an interview with BNT.
“There are activated landslides within the tunnel, which were strengthened last year. It will serve an important public function and is absolutely safe. It is the longest tunnel in the country, has evacuation exits, with a very modern ventilation system in case of accidents, with notification system, safety is guaranteed, there is also a helipad nearby,” added the minister.
“It is under construction, but during the winter season the pace slows down. Currently, the last section of the Europa highway is being completed, it will be completely completed at the end of this year. A new 13-kilometer section is to be opened on the Vidin-Botevgrad highway in the coming weeks Tsekov announced.
According to him, active construction on the Ruse-Byala road will begin in March.
Andrey Tsekov commented on the upcoming rotation in the government and the post of Regional Minister: “I have no worries, it is important to have stability in management”.
