The premium electric car segment will be increasingly crowded in Indonesia. BMW Group Indonesia, as one of the pioneers of electrified vehicles in Indonesia, has confirmed that it will launch the most luxurious electric car product, the BMW i7 in Indonesia next year.
Towards the end of 2022, the Indonesian automotive industry will be flooded with premium electric car products. Several electric car brands have been introduced in Indonesia, such as Toyota bZ4X, Citroën ë-C4, including two electric cars Mercedes-Benz EQS and EQE.
BMW, as the brand that popularized premium electrified vehicles in Indonesia, also doesn’t want to be left behind in releasing its new electric car. BMW Group Indonesia president and chief executive officer Ramesh Divyanathan has confirmed that he will introduce the most luxurious electric vehicle, the BMW i7, in 2023.
“Seeing the tremendous response to the all-electric vehicle variants of BMW and MINI, we will be launching BMW’s most luxurious electric vehicle next year, namely the BMW i7,” Ramesh said in his official statement on Friday (9/12/ 2022).
“BMW is leading the luxury vehicle segment into a new era that will be shaped by innovations in the areas of sustainability and digitalization. With the BMW i7, the world’s most successful premium vehicle manufacturer creates a forward-thinking way to enjoy driving experience, unmatched long-distance comfort and an immersive experience. The most innovative digital,” continued Ramesh.
The BMW i7 is powered by two high-performance electric motors capable of producing 544PS and 795Nm of torque. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h can be achieved in 4.7 seconds. As for battery performance, it has a cruising range of up to 590-625km.
In 2022 alone, BMW Group Indonesia has released a total of 26 vehicle models, with 20 BMW models and 6 MINI models. One of the latest electric models from BMW Group Indonesia that has attracted the most attention is, of course, the MINI Electric.
