A small wooden booth, dubbed the “most inconvenient” store in the world, hangs on a mountain slope in the Shiniuzhai National Geological Park, Hunan Province, providing drinks to climbers who need a quick break while climbing.
Photos store went viral in China over the weekend after several news outlets posted the “most inconvenient store” hashtag, which gained nearly 50 million views on the Twitter-like platform Weibo.

“Employees must be very physically fit if they climb into their” office “every day and then leave it” – commented one of Weibo users.
According to the Chinese state-owned CCTV media, the store offers drinks and snacks, including potato chips. Prices are no higher than other stores and the cost of bottled water is 2 yuan ($ 0.30).
“The store does not make much money, but the tourists are very grateful, so we all feel that our work makes sense,” said one of the employees.
There is only one worker in the room at a time, and his job is to replenish supplies each morning before dawn.
Using the toilet is a problem
– Each new employee has concerns at the beginning before hiring here, but he gets used to it very quickly – comments the seller. – The only problem is the need to use the toilet. It’s tiring to have to go back down and climb up to use it, so try not to drink too much water, he adds.
Shiniuzhai National Geological Park is a popular scenic tourist destination in the country, known for its steep cliffs, waterfalls and climbing routes. According to CCTV, the general store opened in 2018 but is currently closed due to the Covid epidemic in China.
