The most important thing the Israeli army wants to know from the liberated hostages…an expert explains to CNN

(CNN) — CNN military analyst, retired Colonel Cedric Layton, explained the types of questions Israel’s military and internal security services are likely to ask newly released hostages who have been held in Gaza since last October 7.

Layton said: “One of the most basic things that they (Israeli military and security) want to know is for example what did they (the hostages) see? Did they see the tunnels and where were they located? Did they see daylight? Were there times when they went outside? So now what we are doing is “The hostages were held in tunnels and had no interaction with other groups.”

Layton continued: “The hostages may have contact with other hostages, which is also an important point to know. They (the Israeli army and security) also want to know what type of facility the hostages were in so they can link it with any pictures or maps they have to see if there are any weak points.” It can be used in future operations.”

He added: “And also, of course, they want to know if they had communicated with (the Izz al-Din al-Qassam fighters), how many there were, when they were present at the site, and whether there were only fighters from Hamas or other factions. These matters may or may not be known by (the hostages). This is the nature of “The questions they want to ask in situations like this.”
