The government expects economic growth of 1.5 percent, because it’s still 4.6 percent this year. – Purchasing power is fit for more income The closet pulls € 17.2 billion extra to increase purchasing power. The war in Ukraine has raised energy prices, but food has also become much more expensive. – Then the minimum wage will increase by 10 percent, which will also increase related benefits such as the AOW. – The housing allowance will structurally increase by an amount of 16.94 euros per month. The health allowance was increased once by 412 euros. – Parents with children can count on a higher children’s budget; the amount for the third child will increase, it will be equal to the amount for the second child. In addition, single parents can also count on a bonus, but the exact amounts are not yet known. Students living away from home can count on an extra 165 euros per month. – The rate of the first income tax bracket is reduced by 0.11 percent. – Lower energy bill In order to contain the limits of the energy bill, a reduction of the energy tax has been announced. The temporary reduction in excise duties on fuels will be extended at least until June 2023. And there will be an energy surcharge of 1,300 euros for vulnerable families. – Costs Ukraine, reception of displaced persons The Netherlands is allocating over € 3.9 billion to support Ukraine. It concerns both military and humanitarian support (70 million euros), but the reception of Ukrainian refugees is the biggest item: 2.6 billion euros. An additional € 503 million has been allocated this year. – Up to 2027, over € 1 billion has been earmarked for crisis reception of asylum seekers and for housing and integration of status holders. – Extra money for inequality of opportunity, teachers and “loan generation” The government is concerned about the “downward trend” in school performance in primary and secondary education. There will be 1 billion more for the tackle inequality of opportunity, 1 billion to improve the quality of education and another 800 million more for good teachers, school leaders and educational support staff. – A further € 1 billion was also earmarked for better compensation for students who “were not eligible for the basic scholarship”. – Crime The government will allocate € 100 million in 2023 to measures to prevent vulnerable young people from ending up in crime. The same amount is reserved in the leaked Budget Memorandum for a more effective fight against drug crime. – More money to the Royal House The NOS also saw the budget for the Royal House. Members of the Royal Household – King William Alexander, Queen Máxima and Princess Beatrice – will receive around € 450,000 more in 2023 for their income, personal and material costs. – Their salary increases, as has been the case for years, along with the salary increases of civil servants and the vice president of the State Council.
