For the first time, a film has been made about the singer Intars Busulis – “Mans tetis – Intars Busulis”. It is a very open, sincere and also full of humor film about Intar’s life from the perspective of his four children – Lenny, Emilia, Amelia and Jānis.
The film had its premiere on October 25 at the “Splendid Palace” cinema, where the presentation concert of Intara Busulis and Abonementa Orchestra’s new album “Spēle sūva burvju flautā” was also held.
The directors of the film are Edgars and Anna Lūsiņi, as well as the children of Intara Busulis. In the film, they interview people close to dad and important in his life, and also look for answers to not so convenient questions.
“Sometimes it was really not easy for me to answer questions about my frequent absence, about my relationship with my beloved wife Inga, about my dreams. I have never had such open interviews in my life”, admits Intars Busulis.
This is also the first time that Intars Busulis lets you look into his everyday life, brings you into his house and lets you get to know yourself and your family as closely as ever.
For the fans of Intara Busulis, this film is a unique opportunity to learn what made the musician into the kind of personality known and loved by thousands of people throughout Latvia and beyond the borders of our country.
Intara’s eldest daughter Emily, who also went on the stage of “Splendid Palace” to announce the new film, admitted that this was a very interesting experience. “Until now, dad has always separated work from home, so it will be unusual to see us on cinema screens. This is a special event for our family!” she emphasized.
The film “My Dad – Intars Busulis” can also be seen in unique cinema screenings: November 4 in Liepāja, November 5 in Ventspils, November 10 in Valmiera, November 14 in Cēsis, November 24 in Rēzekne. Intars Busulis will also participate in all cinema screenings.
THE MOST HEARTFUL MOMENTS OF THE MOVIE:
Eldest son LENNIE:
“When I was little, my father was often absent from home. It even seemed strange that he was at home. Wowok, good surprise!”
The youngest son JĀNIS:
“Dad, why do you have to work so much?”
Youngest daughter AMELIA:
«He likes to mow the grass and – he also likes to sing. I think I like singing better.”
The eldest daughter EMILY:
“When we argue, he always makes the argument better. We are both a bit psycho, it’s not good, but we are. That’s why those disputes always turn out to be more terrible. And that’s why I don’t like arguing with dad.”
Eldest son LENNIE:
“Yes, it is difficult to argue with him because he thinks he is always right. It is difficult for him to give in to the other. But if he still admits his guilt, he will sneak up like that later…”
EMILY:
“Yes, he hugs a lot afterwards… But it’s cool and sweet.”
Maestro Raymond PAULS:
“When I called his mother, her first sentence was: “What is mine? bandit has it worked again?” They thought I was calling to complain about something.”
“In his boyhood years, he was like everyone else – with his own moves, with the style of a Latvian self-made boy. He “gets away with it” to this day, I’m glad. (..) But you don’t need to praise him too much, he will remain conceited.”
“When Intar starts talking, you never know where it will end. That’s why the musicians behind him always look at each other and wait for what will happen… He succeeds in a lot of things wittily, but sometimes he also misses, that’s more than clear.»
Humorist Maxim GALKINS and AMELIA:
– What is he like as a dad?
– He is… a strict dad.
– Seriously? Strict? Is it not easy for you? Tell me, does he often sing at home?
– He sings in the barn, there is an office for him.
– But maybe that’s why he’s so strict that he works in a barn? Maybe let him in the house…
AMELIA and DAD:
– Dad, who is your best friend?
– My best friend, I feel… No, I feel – it’s your mommy.
AMELIA un MAMMA:
– How did dad propose to you?
– Well, you know how it was – dad didn’t propose to me. Rather, my parents proposed, they were the ones who said: «You should get married». And you know why they said that? Because Lenny was in my belly, and in those days when my dad and I were young, it was accepted that if there is a baby in the belly, then it is absolutely necessary to get married to have a family, to be husband and wife…
LENNY and MOM:
– Have you always wanted many children?
– When I was a young girl, of course I played with dolls, dreamed of a white wedding dress and a family. And I always somehow thought that I would have a boy and a girl, that there would be two children. Two two came together and it’s really cool! It’s very cool! The more children, the more love, and that’s very, very cool!
Intara’s wife INGA:
“It was in 1997, I was only 14 years old when we noticed each other. But from the beginning I didn’t like him at all, even got on my nerves. He was like that, always on the air, laughing, giggling, a completely non-serious person. (..) I don’t know if it was love at first. Rather, it’s a terrible passion and rose-colored glasses. We had a great time together. And now it is.”
