The most elegant station wagon in the world for sale

The firing brake body style was originally a coupe-inspired station wagon that had room for hunting guns. There is now a washable one for sale at Bonhams auction house.

More precisely, it’s a 2009 Maserati Bellagio Fastback Shooting Brake that will go under the hammer.

The car is a reworked version of the Maserati Quattroporte – the generation that debuted in 2004 – and is one of only four in the world.

Combi in the Italian way

The car in question was ordered by the former Ducati CEO, Dr. Carlo Bonomi, and was built by hand by Touring Superleggera body.

The Italians got their hands on a regular Quattroporte and made it more practical – and at the same time more elegant.

The external differences are evident, but it is also something that continues on the inside.

What makes the interior unique is a fold-down rear seat, two seven-inch screens in the back, a dog grill, a champagne cooler and most importantly: a hidden gun compartment with space for two rifles.

A roaring V8

Under the hood, you find the same 4.2-liter V8 as the regular Quattroporte, which, without supercharging, delivers 400 horsepower, enough for a sprint of up to 100 in 5.2 seconds and a top speed of 275 kilometers per hour.

The car has traveled just over 4,200 miles since 2009 and is equipped with the coveted ZF automatic transmission.

The forest green paint goes very well with both the lines of the car and the rims.

The Maserati Bellagio Fastback Shooting Brake was first presented at Villa Erba in 2008 during Villa d’Este Concorso d’Eleganza.

A price to match

The car was auctioned by Bonhams and is estimated to arrive between 1.6 and 2.2 million Swedish kronor. If you are looking for a classy family car, you can place your offer here.
