The second round of the contest to determine the worst bus stop is launched with the clash between Quebec and Queens in New York. Internet users have until Friday 4 p.m. to vote.

Streetsblog USA hosts an annual contest for America’s “Saddest” Bus Stops. A stop on rue Frank-Carrel, in Quebec City, opposite the Futura window and door business, was chosen by the blog’s editors, despite its geographical position.
“The phenomenon of bad bus stops knows no borders, and frankly the stops in Quebec that were submitted to us were too bad for us to miss!”, Explained Kea Wilson, editor of the blog, last week .
The blog uses the playoff formula of the sports world. The competition started with a selection of 16 saves.
Easy victory
In the round of 16, dubbed “Sweet 16”, the stop of the Capital Transportation Network (RTC) crushed its opponent from Philadelphia last week. Of the 924 voters, 84% (774) chose Quebec.
For the quarterfinal round, called “Abominables 8”, Quebec is now crossing swords with a stop in New York. The latter is located in Queens under an elevated highway.
Queens got the better of Lynchburg, Va. In the first round scoring 92%.
