Many get the first choice

On Friday, 22,700 applicants received a response to their application for a school place. Of these, 16,650 are offered their first wish for both education program and school.

– This means that the majority of the young people will also this year get the training offer they want on first intake, writes the county council in a press release.

After the first intake, 1,354 applicants are without an offer. Those waiting for an offer in the preparatory education programs are mainly from the Stor-Bergen area.

Most applicants for specialist studies

Specialist studies have the most applicants at first choice with 10,582 applications. Of those, 9,975 have been offered a place.

In Vestland, there are still over 1,600 vacant school places.

– These places do not correspond to the wishes of those who, as of now, have not been offered a place, writes the county council.

There are 2,247 places on study extension programs in Stor-Bergen, and 2,781 have applied.

There are still 165 people who have so far not been offered a school place.

Longest waiting list

At VG1 this year, the education program for technology and industrial subjects has the longest waiting list.

Here, 1,353 applicants are on the waiting list today, and 502 have the program as their first preference.

Times for admission to upper secondary schools in Vestland:

7 July: offers are made on vigo.no for the first intake16. July: response deadline for first intake 22. July: notification of second intake30. July: response deadline for second intake8. August: third intake. You answer yes to the offer by showing up at school on the first day of school.
