The Czechs will probably never learn. When creating a password, they are not creative at all and always choose the same one or ones that often leave the mind stuck. Take a look at the ranking of the most frequently used passwords in 2022 in the Czech Republic.

Hackers are getting smarter and coming up with new methods to access sensitive data. Many would therefore expect people to care about security. However, it seems the opposite is true.

Password manager survey results NordPass indeed, they are more than disturbing. The most common passwords in 2022 in the Czech Republic were the number combinations “123456”, “123456789” and “12345”. According to experts, it takes one second for hackers to crack these passwords.

“Users keep choosing the same passwords. They keep choosing simple ones. They use, for example, company names, numbers. They keep using the same combinations,” complained IT expert Tomáš Hofman.

From the ranking of the most used passwords, it is clear that names are also popular with Czechs. In this case too, experts point out that it only takes a few seconds for attackers to crack these passwords. Therefore, people should be more creative and take care when inventing.

“I would recommend a password generator. If the user wants to be really secure, they should use a generator or have a password as complex as possible. I recommend eight or more characters. You should avoid things like a password in the form of a password, numeric sequences, and the like.” advised Hoffman.

It is therefore best to choose a combination that is memorable and not easily guessed. “The more characters and uppercase and lowercase letters in a certain combination with numbers or special characters, the more secure the password is, and the more difficult it is for a potential attacker to figure it out or decipher it if they get access to the encrypted form of that password,” he concluded Hoffman.
