One of the most popular presenters in the Czech Republic has been on the media scene for decades. That it got to Nova, where we can still see it today, was more of a coincidence. The likable student amazed everyone in her early days. While she was rather an inconspicuous girl when she was young, she matured and became even more beautiful with age.
As a little girl she dreamed Lucie Borhyová about a profession other than the post of moderator. Like many other children, she wished for an acting career. But that never came true for her.
“I wanted to be an actress, yes, never a singer, I probably sang at home as a child, but an actress, that’s what I wanted to be, but in the end it didn’t happen,” she revealed some time ago in an interview for Expres.cz.
After graduation, the handsome Lucie headed to the Prague University of Journalism. And it was precisely because of her studies that she needed to fulfill the mandatory school experience. At the same time, this moment was very important for her entire life.

Lucie Borhyová was very beautiful in her youth.
“I studied at the Higher Vocational School of Journalism and I needed a stamp for the index and practice. At first they told me that they wouldn’t hire me, but when I was leaving, they called me to leave my resume there. After that, they told me that they would finally accept me,” confided Lucie Borhyová to pro Extra.cz.
She admitted that in the beginning she suffered from really big stage fright and there are moments where even today, as a seasoned presenter, she is nervous.
“There was a lot of nervousness, a lot. So big I thought I wouldn’t speak. I was incredibly nervous,” she recalled of her first ever live broadcast.
The presenter denies having an affair with Železný
But she first worked at Nova as the secretary of the then director Vladimir Železnýshe only started applying for the post of moderator after some time. Perhaps the fact that she made a very good impression on the director helped her later in the selection process. But the fact is that it wouldn’t be of any use to her if she didn’t have really great talent.
Even so, there was speculation for a while that she got the lucrative job through patronage, or that she even had an affair with Železný. However, the presenter has always vehemently denied it.
“I started very young, it wasn’t fashionable at the time. They joked with me that I could be written in the Guinness Book of Records as the youngest presenter. I didn’t want to disappoint the people who put their trust in me, and it was crazy for me,” the sympathetic blonde described her experience.
She was considering a career change
But during its beginnings, it also had to deal with other difficulties. One of them was the fact that not all the news she had to talk about in front of the nation on TV was positive.
“I took it very much to heart. I experienced the news terribly and I was so upset about it that I left work and cried,” she admitted to Extra.cz, adding that she even wondered if she should change her profession.
“Then I realized that I have to get rid of those messages and I can’t be a part of every family and we all have a given life and destiny. It was impossible for me to take the news so personally. Then I got rid of it and I did well,” concluded Lucie Borhyová.
