February 8 at 19.00 VEF Palace of Culture Operetta Theater invites to the theatrical Valentine’s Day concert program “Music of Love” (“Musique d’amour”).
“This concert program with Viennese charm, which includes the most beautiful opera arias and duets, as well as hits from the audience’s favorite operettas and our concert programs, will at the same time look back at the Operetta Theater’s nine-year program, taking into account the public’s wishes and the Operetta Theater requests. It will be music about love; the music we love and know, ”says Agija Ozolina-Kozlovska, director of the Operetta Theater.
The concert will feature Sonora Vaice (soprano), Anta Jankovska (soprano / Italy), Laura Purena (soprano), Dainis Skutelis (tenor) and Nauris Indzeris (baritone), as well as the Operetta Theater Symphony Orchestra conducted by Atvar Lakstīgala. Program: Jean-Jacques Offenbach’s Olympian Aria, excerpts from Franz Lehar’s operetta “The Funny Widow” (the famous duo “Lips in Silence” in the repertoire of all the world’s opera singers and “Song of Will”), aria “You Own My Heart” from F. Lehar’s operetta Land of Smiles »etc.
Concert conductor Atvars Lakstīgala says: “Love is beautiful like music. And music cannot come without love. Both love and music are with us from the moment we are born until the last breath of our lives. Love, like music, can make us happy and shrink. Love and music can be felt, can be heard, but cannot be felt. Love and music are the most beautiful things God has created. ” Latvian opera singer Anta Jankovska, who lives in Italy, adds: “I would like to quote Paul Coelho, who said that” love is a sufficient excuse for any existence. ” That’s what I really think, and it doesn’t matter how long (in terms of time) you’ve experienced true love in your life, because the fact that you’ve experienced it is already worth living. I am absolutely irrational, the most ardent defender of love, because it is clearly the most beautiful thing that can happen to a person. ”
