We present a list of the most beautiful beaches in Pontevedra….
The Galician summer is here. From May 25, Galicia enters Phase 2 of the de-escalation and we can now enjoy the beaches of the province for swimming and sunbathing.
–
In the province of Pontevedra there are an infinity of beautiful beaches. Some are urban, with all services, others are wild, difficult to access and almost without infrastructure …
Hours await you enjoying the crystal clear waters and large expanses of white sand, surfing and water sports, or bird watching. Something to envy the Caribbean? Maybe the temperature of our Atlantic?
With an endless list of beaches, choosing has not been easy, but we had to choose. We leave you with a selection of the best sandy areas in the province of Pontevedra:
1. A Lanzada (O Grove)
It is perhaps the best known beach in the Rías Baixas and in the province of Pontevedra for its waves and its location on the isthmus on the O Grove peninsula. In its 2,300 kilometers in length you can practice various sports such as surfing, windsurfing and kitesurfing.
2. Areas (Sanxenxo)
It is one of the most popular beaches in Pontevedra for its white sand and crystal clear water. Areas has several restaurants on the beach and with terraces ideal for death to have an aperitif with views of the sea.
3. Bamio (Vilagarcía de Arousa)
It is a small and quiet beach, equipped with a beautiful promenade. It is shaped like a half shell and is located in a rural environment because it is well embedded in the estuary. It also has fine white sand, which makes it one of the best beaches in Pontevedra.
4. Castiñeiras (Aldán)
It is part of a series of coves separated by rock formations. The Aldán estuary has several shell-shaped beaches, with white sand and transparent waters reminiscent of the Caribbean, but in a cold version. Castiñeiras measures 250 meters and is characterized by the presence of a rocky set in the middle of the sandy area.
5. Lapamán (Bueu)
This sandy area located between the municipalities of Marín and Bueu has a length of 800 meters. It is one of the most beautiful beaches in Pontevedra. To access you have to climb steep stairs. Its candid sands are the reward for so much effort.
6. Loira (Pebble)
This beautiful 315-meter-long beach is shaped like a dune, which prevents the waters of the rivers from flowing between the sand. There are several restaurants in the surroundings, as well as sailors’ houses that give it a lot of charm.
7. Playa América (Nigrán)
Among the most beautiful beaches in Pontevedra we must mention this one, which is perfect for those who love to take long walks along the shore. A pleasant pedestrian walkway runs through its entire length, with landscaped areas and a walkway over the Muíños River.
8. Rhodes (Cíes Islands)
This review could not miss the beach of Rodas, in the Cies Islands. It was declared in 2007 the best beach in the world by the prestigious newspaper The Guardian. Its immaculate sand and its transparent waters make it a little paradise. Too bad the sea is frozen. Only the strongest can stoically endure these temperatures.
